Venice is home to a thriving theatrical scene and its theatres stage productions of opera, ballet and drama throughout the year.

The city also hosts an acclaimed opera festival from July to September each year. Notable venues include the famous Gran Teatro La Fenice, Teatro a l'Avogaria and Teatro Ridotto.

Good quality live music, including jazz, pop, rock and classical, can be found at a number of bars, cafés and nightclubs throughout the city of Venice.
